India’s domestic coffee consumption has increased substantially in the past few years owing to the growing awareness of coffee culture, higher disposable income and rising preference for coffee over tea. International travel, digital connectivity and media consumption have collectively accelerated the adoption of western consumption habits. The Coffee market in India is estimated to grow at 9.87% by the year 2033. Thus, coffee in this context has transcended its status as a mere beverage to become a cultural signifier of sophistication. The Indian consumers are also getting more discerning about the quality and origin of coffee.
In metro cities, coffee is still primarily driven by young professionals aged between 18-35, who not only view coffee as a stimulant but as an integral part of their identity. Meanwhile, in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, we realise early stages of coffee adoption.
MONIN Coffee Creativity Cup 2025
With the growing popularity of coffee in India and as a leading global brand in premium syrups and solutions, MONIN India introduced the MONIN Coffee Creativity Cup to elevate the art of coffee creativity. This year, MONIN unveiled the theme for MCCC 2025 “Alchemy of Flavours: A fusion of MONIN and exquisite coffee”. The theme embraces the skills of coffee-preparation while encouraging contestants to experiment with unique and expected flavour combinations with their espresso-based beverages.
We invited baristas and beverage innovators across India to embark on a sensory journey where mixology meets the world of exquisite coffee, creating a symphony of taste, flavours and aromas. We challenged the participants to elevate their designer coffee mocktail creations beyond mere taste and into the realm of storytelling.
We hosted three regional rounds of India in-
• North and East Regionals in Delhi
• West Regionals in Mumbai
• South Regionals in Bengaluru
And the MCCC Grand Finale in Jaipur.
